In every part of the world, diverse cultures unite to celebrate the spirit in different forms. These global celebrations, steeped in tradition and meaning, stand as evidence of the universal human connection that goes beyond geographical boundaries.
Pitrupaksha: Pitru Paksha is celebrated by Hindus in India for a period of 16 days in September or October dedicated to honouring and offering prayers to deceased ancestors. It is believed that the spirits of the deceased visit during this time, and rituals and offerings are made to ensure their peaceful journey to the afterlife.

Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos): The Mexican Day of the Dead stands out as one of the world’s most renowned celebrations. This vibrant and joyful festival brings families together to commemorate and pay tribute to their dearly departed. Through intricate altars, lively processions, and colourful decorations, participants believe they can establish a connection with the spirits of the deceased, celebrating the enduring cycle of life.

All Souls Day: All Souls’ Day is celebrated in the Christian tradition to honour and pray for the souls of the departed. The central purpose of All Souls’ Day is to offer prayers for the souls of individuals who have died. Christians believe in the power of prayer to aid the departed in their journey towards God, seeking mercy, forgiveness, and eventual union with the almighty.

Halloween day: In a more familiar context, the Celtic festival of Samhain, a precursor to Halloween, signals the close of the harvest season and the onset of winter.
